PWN Garage DoorDeparting from the dealership in a NEW (to me) 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera 4. This car has a 3.4 litre 6-cylinder horizontally opposed boxter engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. The ‘4’ in Carrera 4 denotes that it is All Wheel Drive. After just purchasing this new car, I record my very first reactions to it. I talk about the hardline negotiating process and a lot of unfettered joy and happiness.

PWN Garage DoorDon’t be confused by the beginning of this episode: this is a review of the 2015 Mustang Fastback. Also this episode takes place in Las Vegas and though I may sound frustrated by my experiences, it all works out for the better in the end.

As usual, I have jumped into this car without knowing much about the details but we learn as we go. This 2015 Mustang Fastback came with a 2.3litre EcoBoost 4 cylinder engine (310hp with a turbocharger) mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission with paddle shift. This is a 2 door, 4 seater, front engine, rear drive coupe priced at $37,000 as tested.

First Drive of a 2015 Volvo S60 T5 4 door medium size sedan. This car’s list price as tested is $41,500 CDN.

The S60 T5 Front Wheel Drive is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 240 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. A new 8-speed automatic transmission is standard, as is stop/start technology. Fuel economy ratings for this engine are 25 miles per gallon city/37 mpg highway.

The base model ($34,225US) comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, exterior LED accent lamps, dual-zone climate control, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter, a tilt-telescopic steering wheel, cruise control, a power driver’s seat with memory and lumbar support, an 8-speaker HD audio system with a 7-in display and Sirius satellite radio, Bluetooth phone and audio, and a split-folding rear seat.

The T5 Premier Package ($36,725US) adds different 17-in alloys, keyless entry with push-button start, leather upholstery, a sunroof, a power passenger seat, a TFT gauge cluster with driver-selectable themes and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

The T5 Premier Plus Package (the vehicle I am driving $37,475US) contributes a rearview camera, a HomeLink garage door opener, power retractable side mirrors and a compass.

FirstDrive (review) of the 2014 Chevy Camaro convertible (Trim level LT1). Value approximately $32,000 US. 3.6 litre V6 323 hp with 6 speed auto transmission with paddle shift. This episode directly from a tropical island in the state of Hawaii. Some Tesla Model S sightings and a little bit of hooning around. I don’t like the way this car downshifts in sport mode.

Sort of a driving Meta-Cast. Non-car enthusiasts beware:

Grey day with taillight-less drivers. Analyzing the handling characteristics of the Porsche 911. The Cheeze Wire Saga is resolved. Addendum: The final weight of all propane, liquor and other sundries in the front trunk was 95 lbs.

I am driving a 2013 BMW X1 4 door crossover mini SUV. The steering wheel and seat heat works very well, once you learn where to find it. I want the new BMW Gavausoirre! Test drive of the 2013 Mazda 3 four door sedan. I give this car an overall good review. It is well built, appropriately powered and the suspension is delightfully stiff – and who doesn’t like a delighful stiffy. Although it has turned me into a Door Locking Honking Housewife.
